Established in 1974 by Chicago natives, Maurice and Christine Perkins, the Inner City Youth and Adult Foundation Inc. was founded to connect inner-city community members with resources that would enable them to be impactful members of society. ICYAF leaders are parents, mentors, coaches, and advocates.
The Inner City Youth and Adult Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the community through the fundamental pillars of survival in the inner city: job opportunities and educational resources. Our mission is to dismantle barriers to job entry and higher education by offering scholarships, comprehensive professional and personal development programs, and continuous support for individuals facing limited resources, fostering a pathway to success.
We envision a world in which every citizen has access to a high-quality education and equal job opportunities, enabling them to be impactful contributors to society.
Since 1974, the Inner City Youth and Adult Foundation Inc. has provided mentorship to community members, after school programs, youth field trips, transitional housing for new citizens, youth summer job programs, softball programs, career fairs, and a host of resources to provide developmental support through education and recreation.
