Preventing Recidivism Through Education
50 percent of previously incarcerated persons in the US return to prison.
Incarcerated persons that take vocational classes while in prison reduces recidivism from 50 to 30 percent.
Attaining an Associates Degree while incarcerated reduces recidivism to 14 percent.
Imprisoned persons who obtain a Bachelor's Degree while incarcerated reduces recidivism to 5.5 percent.
Imprisoned persons who are able to obtain a Masters Degree reduces recidivism to 0 percent.
Inner City Youth and Adult Foundation, Inc. is committed to providing ongoing support beyond financial assistant. We aim to equip participants with skills and tools for long-term success through ongoing mentorship and personal and professional development programs.
We identify high school seniors that exemplify academic excellence, commitment to community, personal integrity, and demonstrate financial need.
We assist these students with college readiness programs, personal support, and scholarship awards to assist with the burden of tuition.
We provide ongoing support to these students and other community members through professional development programs and mentorship.
